Why Practice Mindfulness?
When we are faced with a challenging situation in life, our biggest strength lies in how well we handle our self emotionally. Our emotional energy can either support us or it can take us on a downward journey of low confidence/self-esteem, feeling trapped, or alone.
In case of low emotional support, we might suffer. As a result of this suffering, our old life patterns- that over the years have been imprinted in every cell of our body, can come out to play their role. Therefore, we might feel that we are unable to move forward or take steps towards a change in life. It feels as if we are living our life on autopilot.
To break this pattern, it is important to pause and take note of what is happening in our life in the present moment. That is the essence of Mindfulness. The aim is not to fix something in us, rather, to be aware of our existence, to respond well to life by choosing our own response based on our awareness.
